We are very pleased to welcome one of the words finest jazz guitarist to Vancouver Island in April 2026.

I first heard John Moulder playing guitar in 1998 on a album by one of my favorite soul/jazz singers, Terry Callier. As a guitarist myself, he without exaggeration, stopped me in my tracks. I had seldom heard a guitarist with such a unique creative expression, edginess and astonishing fluidity.

John has regularly recorded with Paul Wertico and Steve Rodby (ex Pat Metheny) as well as having played with musicians too numerous to list but who include Eddie Harris, Lyle Mays, Bob Mintzer, Paul McCandless, Niels Orsted Pederson, Kurt Elling, Arild Anderson and Bendik Hofseth etc. etc.

John lives in Chicago but is coming to Vancouver Island next month for a "mini tour" that Includes Victoria (Hermans), Nanaimo (Simonholt Restaurant - April 19th) and Parksville (Macmillan Arts Centre) and I have teamed him with four of our best. Ryan Oliver (saxes), Nick Peck (keys), Ken Lister (bass) and Jon Miller (drums).
